22. října vystoupí v klubu K4 (klub studentů University Karlovy) v rámci festivalů NethWorks a STIMUL jeden z hlavních nizozemských umělců v oblasti improvizované hudby Gert-Jan Prins. Tento amsterodamský samouk se zaměřuje na akustické a hudební kvality elektronického 'noisu'. Ve své práci se spojuje s moderní elektronickou klubovou kulturou, a vyčleňuje se díky snaze spojit elektronický zvuk s vizuálem. Prins používá nástroje, které vyvinul sám, například převody optických signálů z televize do akustických zvuků. K dunivým beatům využívá nízkých rádiových frekvencí. Vystupoval například s Matsem Gustafssonem, Williamem Hookerem nebo se "superorchestrem" elektronické hudby M.I.M.E.O.
Hudební festival STIMUL se od roku 2005 v českém hudebním prostředí etabloval jako výrazná hudební akce s jasně určenou dramaturgií. Festival se snaží prezentovat hudbu, která u nás běžně není dostupná. Programové zaměření festivalu se snaží reflektovat znění progresivní elektroniky, noisu, současného jazzu a všechny podoby improvizované hudby, včetně jejich prolnutí a nejrůznějších mezižánrových přesahů.

Stimul Festival – Gert-Jan Prins

On October, 22 the student’s club of the Charles University K4 will host Gert-Jan Prins, one of the most important Dutch artists in the field of musical improvisation. This event will take place within the framework of the two following festivals: Stimul Festival and NethWorks.cz 2010. Gert-Jan Prins, an autodidact from Amsterdam, focuses on the sonic and musical qualities of electronic 'noise'. In his work he makes connections with modern electronic club culture, he tries to relate electronic sound to the visual, which makes him an extraordinary sound artist. Prins uses various instruments and systems that he has built himself, e.g. system that transfers optic signals from television into listenable audio domain. He uses low radio frequencies to achieve rumbling beats. Prins has collaborated, among others, with Mats Gustafsson, William Hooker and he is also a member of the electronic “superorchestra” M.I.M.E.O.
The music Festival Stimul has become an outstanding music event with a clearly defined dramaturgy on the Czech music scene since it was founded in 2005. The Festival wants to present music that is not usually to be heard in the Czech Republic. The programme of the Festival tries to focus on the reflection of the sound of progressive electronic music, noise, contemporary jazz music and all kinds of improvised music including their penetration to each other and diverse inter-genre outreaches.
