Výstava nizozemské umělkyně Els Moes (1950) je první výstavou BRNO GALLERY CZ věnovanou zahraničnímu autorovi. Els Moes patří mezi představitelky střední generace a ve svém výtvarném uvažování pracuje s reduktivní formou. Východiskem její citlivosti je vizuální účinek struktury povětšinou monochromních ploch, které mění svůj charakter v důsledku změn světelných podmínek i úhlu divákova pohledu. Oční sítnice zaznamenává při sledování těchto velmi jemných struktur jemné chvění a vznik až neuchopitelných optických jevů. Ty můžeme sledovat nejen v malbách na plátně, ale i v komorních reliéfech vytvořených řazením hrany papíru. Výstava představí práce Els Moes z posledních několika let a bude doprovázena katalogový dvojlistem s reprodukcemi vybraných děl a s odborným textem kurátorky.
BRNO GALLERY CZ vznikla počátkem roku 2010. Zaměřuje se především na výtvarné projevy, které se na české výtvarné scéně začaly objevovat v 60. letech v souvislosti s činností skupiny Křižovatka (založené 1963) a výstavou Nová citlivost (1968). Sem patří tendence o objektivizaci tvorby, elementarizace výrazových prostředků, konstruktivní organizace plochy resp. hmoty a užití převážně geometrického tvarosloví. Program galerie však nezůstává ukotven v okruhu nejstarší generace, ale obrací se i k autorům mladším, kteří na zmíněné uvažování navazují aktuálními přístupy.

Exhibition of Dutch artist Els Moes is the first exhibition in Brno Gallery CZ devoted to a foreign artist. Els Moes represents middle generation and she uses a reductive form in her art works. Her perception is based on a visual effect of a structure of mainly monochromatic surface which changes its character accordingly to changing light conditions and visual angel of viewers as well. Watching these very fine structures the eye detects a fine vibration and a formation of elusive optical phenomena. These phenomena can be seen not only on paintings on canvases, but also on chamber relieves created by lined up paper edges. The exhibition will introduce Els Moes’ works from the past few years. The exhibition will be accompanied by a brief catalogue with reproductions of selected pieces, including also expert comments of a curator.
Brno Gallery CZ was established at the beginning of 2010. It is mainly focused on artistic acts that appeared on the Czech art scene in the 1960’s in connection with activities of Křižovatka group (est. 1963) and Nová citlivost exhibition (1968). Among those acts belong especially tendencies for objectification of work, reduction of means of expression, constructive organization of a surface or a substance and mainly the use of geometrical visual language. Programme of the gallery is not focused only on this generation but it also refers to younger authors who continue in the same or similar artistic manner as mentioned above but using new procedures or methods.
