Od 5. do 10. října proběhne podvanácté největší a nejznámější česká designová přehlídka novinek světového designu Desigblok. Opět přiláká české i zahraniční designéry, šperkaře, módní návrháře i celé firmy, kteří budou vystavovat v pětipatrovém Paláci Elektrických podniků s rozlohou více jak 6 000 m2. Kromě více než 200 vystavovatelů čekají na návštěvníky i módní přehlídky.
Mezi zahraničními vystavovateli bude i světově známý nizozemský návrhář Richard Hutten, který dal hrnku opravdu velké uši. Narodil se 1967 a v roce 1991 absolvoval na Akademii průmyslového designu v Eindhovenu. Ihned si založil vlastní studio a začal pracovat na řadě projektů od nábytku, přes předměty až po interiéry. Vyvinul koncepty 'No sign of design' (Bez známky designu) a 'Table upon table' (Stůl nad stolem). Jeho práce jsou součástí stálé expozice muzeí v Utrechtu (Centraal Museum), Amsterdamu (Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art), Weil am Rhein (Vitra Museum )a San Franciscu (Museum of Modern Art).

Mladá eindhovenská dvojice Daphna Isaacs a Laurens Manders na sebe v poslední době upozornila hned několika projekty. V Praze se představí kolekcí Tafelskukken, ve které kombinují tradiční mísu jako centrální bod stolování se svítidlem a porcelán se dřevem. Kolekce se stala vítězem letošních DMY Awards v Berlíně.

Mladá holandská designérka je loňskou absolventkou oboru Produktový design na Akademii umění a designu v Arnhemu. V rámci výstavy DesignGuide Talents na Designbloku uvede svůj konceptuální projekt Paperpulp. Kolekci nádobí a nábytku z materiálu, který doslova klame tělem, poprvé představila na DMY Berlin.
Mimo hlavního Superstudia, které očekává návštěvnost větší než minulý rok, tedy přes 21 000 návštěvníků, budou i nadále otevřeny i zavedené zóny Karlín a Holešovice, které jsou plné showroomů a firmy v nich prezentují své novinky. Zároveň bude i nadále fungovat zóna Nové a Staré město, která otevírá módní butiky, pořádá vlastní módní přehlídky a nabízí zajímavé slevy.

In the week of 5 – 10 October the 12th annual Days of design in Prague Designblok will take place. This biggest and most famous Czech design presentation will again attract various Czech as well as foreign designers, jewelers, fashion designers or whole companies that will exhibit in the five-floor building of Palác Elektrických podniků which is 6000m2 large. Besides the works of more than 200 exhibitors, also fashion shows are part of the exhibition.
One of the foreign exhibitors is the famous Dutch designer, Richard Hutten who is particularly famous for really big ears that he has given to his cups. He was born in 1967 and in 1991 he graduated at the Academy Industrial Design Eindhoven. Almost immediately after the graduation, he started his own design studio and started various projects from furniture and product design, to interior design. He developed the famous 'No sign of design' and 'Table upon table' concepts. His work is part of the permanent collections of, among others, Centraal Museum in Utrecht, Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam, Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein and Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.

Daphna Isaacs and Lawrens Manders are a young couple from Eindhoven who have recently drawn attention to themselves through several projects. In Prague, they are going to introduce their Taffelskukken collection, which combines a traditional bowl as the focal point of a lain table with a lighting unit, plus porcelain with wood. The collection recently won this year’s DMY Award in Berlin.
Debbie Wijskamp
Debbie Wijskamp is a young Dutch designer and a graduate at the Academy of Arts and Design in Arnhem. In the DesignGuide exhibition, she is going to present her conceptual project Paperpulp. Her collection of furniture and tableware was first introduced at DMY Berlin.
Besides the exhibition place Superstudio, which is awaiting more visitors than the last year (more than 21 000 people), the established areas Karlin and Holešovice will be open as well. These zones will be full of showrooms where diverse companies will present their products. Fashion boutiques are situated in the zone Nové and Staré město and will also organize fashion shows and offer interesting discounts.
