AKCENT – Mezinárodní festival divadla se sociálním přesahem

Festival Akcent byl založen na základě společné iniciativy pražského Divadla Archa a Divadla z Pasáže v Banské Bystrici. Slovenská část festivalu se bude konat od 30. září do 2. října a pražská část od 4. do 7. října 2010.
Festival Akcent vzniká z naléhavé potřeby vytvořit platformu pro umění, které překračuje hranice mezi uměleckou tvorbou, sociálními problémy a politikou. Festival chce prezentovat aktivity, které uměleckými prostředky vstupují na pole společensky prospěšné či společensky kritické činnosti. Festival chce dát prostor pro konfrontaci divadla a ostatních druhů umění, které pracují formou komunitního umění, dokumentárního divadla, sociálních intervencí, umění ve veřejném prostoru či se zabývají specifickými sociálními tématy. Festival Akcent chce prosazovat nový pohled na funkci umění v sociálním kontextu.
Dramaturgickým poradcem pražské části festivalu je Henk Keizer, ředitel nizozemské organizace Friesland – Culturele Hofdstad 2018. Umělecká ředitelka pražské části festivalu Jana Svobodová k zahraniční účasti poznamenává: „Jen stěží bychom našli zemi, kde je komunitní nebo sociálně – specifické umění, tak rozšířeno a na tak vysoké úrovni, jako je tomu v Nizozemí. Proto jsme se rozhodli při budování základů nového festivalu úzce spolupracovat s nizozemskými umělci, producenty a divadelními teoretiky. Ti také budou tvořit velkou část zahraniční účasti nejen tohoto nultého, ale doufejme i dalších ročníků festivalu.“

- Titia Bouwmeester a Ted van Leeuwen - umělečtí vedoucí projektu 5ekwartier holandském Haarlemu. Titia byla uměleckou vedoucí dnes již neexistující divadelní skupiny Dogtroep. V rámci festivalu budou prezentovat projekty divadla 5ekwartier
- Riet Mellink - ředitelka Peer GrouP, umělecké organizace, která pracuje v zemědělských oblastech severního Nizozemí. V rámci festivalu povede workshop věnovaný site specific projektům
- Eugen van Erven a Rien Sprenger – pedagogové z univerzity v Utrechtu, kteří se teoreticky zabývají komunitním uměním
Nultý ročník festivalu si klade za cíl postavit pevné základy pro následující první ročník, který by se měl konat mnohem širší formě v roce 2011. Nultý ročník festivalu budou tvořit semináře, symposia, prezentace, dílny, akce ve veřejném prostoru, projekce dokumentárních filmů, divadelní představení a koncerty.

Akcent Festival was founded on the basis of a social initiative by Prague’s Archa Theatre and the Theatre from the Passage in Bánská Bystrica. The Festival will have two parts, both a Czech and a Slovak part. The Slovak part of the Festival will take place from September 30 to October 2 and the Prague part from October 4 to 7, 2010.
The Akcent Festival was born from the urgent need to create a platform for art that breaks the barriers between artistic creation, social problems and politics. The Festival wants to present activities where art is performed as part of socially beneficial or socially critical activities. The Festival wants to give space for the confrontation of theatre and other types of art, which work in the form of community art, documentary theatre, social intervention and art in public spaces, or which focus on specific social themes. The Akcent Festival wants to put forward a new perspective on the function of art in the social context.
The dramaturgical advisor of the Prague part of the Festival is Henk Keizer, the director of the Dutch organization Friesland – Culturele Hoofdstad 2018.
The artistic director of the Prague part of the Festival, Jana Svobodová, had this to say about the foreign participation in the Festival: “It would be hard to find a country where community art or social specific art are as widespread and at such a high level as in the Netherlands. That’s why we decided when building the foundation of the new festival to closely cooperate with Dutch artists, producers and theatre specialists. These people will also make up a large part of the foreign participation not only in the pilot year, but we hope also in future years of the Festival.”
Dutch guests of the Akcent Festival:
- Henk Keizer - director of the Dutch organization Friesland – Culturele Hoofdstad 2018
- Titia Bouwmeester and Ted van Leeuwen - artistic directors of the 5ekwartier project in Haarlem, the Netherlands; Titia was the artistic director of the former theatre group Dogtroep. In the course of the Festival they will present the projects of the 5ekwartier theatre
- Riet Mellink - director of the Peer GrouP, an arts organization that works in farming regions of the northern Netherlands
- Eugen van Erven a Rien Sprenger – pedagogues of the university in Utrecht, who focus on the theory of community art
The goal of the pilot year of the Festival is to establish a firm basis for the following first year, which should take place in a much broader form in 2011. The pilot year of the Festival will include seminars, symposia, presentations, workshops, events in public spaces, screenings of documentary films, theatre performances and concerts.
